Uploading the Inventory to the Internet

Inventory can be uploaded to the server at Friday Systems, Inc.

If you have purchased our optional 'Ad-Pack', inventory will be posted to various web advertising sites of your choosing. Contact Friday Systems, Inc for more information about purchasing this powerful marketing tool.

If you have also purchased a dealership web site package with Friday Systems, Inc., your inventory will also be posted to this web page.

Note: Only unsold vehicles will be uploaded unless you specify otherwise in the Dealership Information window.

To upload your inventory, ensure an established Internet connection. Some users may need to manually establish a connection, especially if using a dial-up service.  Dealerships connected to a DSL or a cable modem, generally do not need to take any further steps other than checking firewall settings.

To access the upload utility, click on Utilities in the menu bar and select Internet Stock Transfer from the drop-down menu.

The system will display the Inventory Upload screen, which has a listing of the inventory ready for upload as well as a count of the number of vehicles in the listing.

A check box is included in each vehicle listing which indicates that pictures will be uploaded for this vehicle. The system will automatically select and check off some of these boxes, particularly if a vehicle's pictures have been modified since the last upload to the server. Pictures will not be sent if the check box is blank. To uncheck a box, click on the check mark, and it will clear.

An option is available for transmitting new pictures only, pictures added within a certain number of days (which can be specified), or all pictures.  Selections can be made in the 'Upload' box in the lower left.

Note: Select All Pictures only if pictures are missing on your website. Uploading too many pictures consumes your Internet resources and may take some time, especially using a dial-up connection and not a high-speed internet connection such as a T1, DSL, or cable modem.

Excluding Feeds to Selected Websites

On occasion there is a need to exclude or block certain vehicles from certain websites.  Click the down arrow in the box below the blue 'Ready' bar.  The default setting in this box is 'All'.

In the drop-down menu, click on the website.  A new column will appear labeled 'Exclude Feed'.  Put a check mark in each box for each vehicle that is to be excluded.  Repeat this process if multiple websites require exclusions. This function can also be accomplished through the 'Inventory Details' screen.
